MUZZLES
It's time we flipped the script and stopped vilifying muzzles, and started appreciating all the good that they can do for our furry friends.
Situations that can benefit from a muzzle include:
● Introducing another species to your dog
● Traveling abroad as it may be required by law
● Making dog to dog introductions safer
● Playing too rough with their friends
● Learning not to eat dangerous stuff off the ground
● When looking for space, as people usually give dogs that wear muzzles
distance by crossing the street
● Training reactive dogs to be around other dogs, people, or children
safely
Desensitize your dog to wearing a muzzle in the house by associating it with treats cooperatively, to create positive associations, so you can *eventually* use it as a precaution for training, grooming, and at the vets.
DISCLAIMER: Mesh or tube muzzles (not basket muzzles) are restricting as they hold the snout shut which prevents the dog from panting or drinking. Therefore these muzzles should NEVER be left on for more than 15 minutes without giving the dog a break. If the muzzle is put on the dog while the dog is stressed, and/or in an uncomfortable environment, the muzzle will represent stress.
Baskerville Ultra Muzzle
